On a particular bad day.....

I returned home after a bad night of work. Tired and hungry, I sank into the armchair in my living room. My mum placed my plate of toast on the bolded words of an outdated issue of chinese newspapers that reads: Body Parts found along kallang river. I showed an expression of disgust, and my father gave a little laugh.

"Normally it's the honest people who do this kind of thing." My dad offered, thinking that I would want to discuss murder cases over breakfast.

"How you know this guy honest??? Just because he's bespectacled and bald?" I argued, pointing to a photograph on another issue.

"Honest people don't know how to handle such situations, " my father continued as he ignored my point. " hence, they tend to do the extremes."

I munched on my toast when my dad decided to explain the details. "This kind of people got a nervous nature. They kill on impulse and after that, they mutilate the body. Better than leaving it at home. I wonder why he didn't cut away the fingers."

"I wonder what's on TV in the morning," I pressed the remote control and turned to the TV.

"Police are now looking for the feet of the victim in the Kallang river case," the chinese broadcaster annonunced "it is believed to be disposed on land."

"uh-huh" I mumbled, still struggling on my toast. The news had incited my father to do more discussion. "maybe he dumped them in a dustbin, the cleaners won't notice something of that size."

I finally gave up on my breakfast. "Ma.... too many leh, cannot finish... i go sleep le."

June again

It was a great test of endurance at 2am. My job was to remove the trays of chips ejected by the machine. At one point of time, I got hasty and my fingers were caught in the machine. The tray continued to move and my fingers went deeper into the machine. I was desperately trying to find a solution to save my fingers when the plastic tray broke into 2. Hundereds of chips scattered inside the machine. The supervisor came over and I was ready for a good trashing down. Instead, he asked if I had hurt my hand.

That's life at the factory. The 12 hr shift isn't that bad. But I'll be heeding Jason's advice and quit the job. Staying up late kills too many brain cells. No amount of money can restore them.

I'll be a happier man in 3 days time. That's when I can really enjoy my holidays. Have plans to watch Initial D, Night cycling, shopping, go relax at the beach, basketball, blah blah blah. And then I'll be back in hall to move into my new (and hopefully happier) room. Many things to look forward to.

I've learned many lessons in the past year. Taking up too many commitments does not equate to being productive. Being focused and doing the job well is the key to productivity. I'll be careful in choosing my ccas next sem. Studies come first.

june

Finally, a little time for myself. This may be my only entry for the month.

I spent my monday to wednesday in ATC. Cadets are now undergoing a much more intersting programme, yet all they do is to complain about the heat and mosquitoes. I feel disgusted that NPCC cadets are only concern about mosquitoes when the instructors put in so much effort to prepare the camp for them...

Anyway, I take consolation that the scoldings are never directed to my school cadets.

I've found a job as a factory technician, night shift. The job is not xiong but I couldn't find time to sleep in the day last week. That evolved me into a panda by the end of the week.

I'm looking forward to my pay 2 weeks later
